“After His Heart” Was a Great Success!

 

The “After His Heart” purity conference was a great success!!  Thank you to everyone who helped out with the conference – everyone really worked together and did a great job!

The conference lasted from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Rocky Bayou Baptist Church.

Morning

The tone of the conference was set with upbeat praise & worship led by 3 o’ Clock Station, a student band from Niceville.  Afterwards Chelsia Brodie, one of the coordinators for the event, welcomed everyone warmly, setting the stage for the classes by bringing the speakers up on stage and introducing them individually.  She shared part of her testimony with the audience and encouraged them to be pure for Christ.  Then, Master’s Mime (Cornerstone Church) came on stage and did a very moving drama called “Everything,” that displayed the power of God to deliver and set a person free.

Afternoon

After everyone was dismissed to workshops, they rotated between a large group for their gender and small groups that everyone could attend.  Kelsey, Lasonja, Sarah, Victoria, Lesley, Ryan, and Anne were the speakers that ministered during that time, with fun, interactive classes, topics ranging from soul ties to lust.

Evening

Everyone gathered in the sanctuary around the end of the event for door prizes and a concert involving a youth choir (Mercy Seat Ministries), a drama team (Chozen), and Ascend, another worship band.  The event closed out with a few thoughts from two of the volunteers who encouraged the youth attending to let God work in their hearts and continue the work he started in them during the conference.

All in all, the event was a success, and we’ve heard positive feedback from many people who attended the conference.  God is amazing.  Without Him none of this could have happened.

Special thanks goes out to Chelsia Brodie, the event coordinator, Colton Redwine, our website, flier, and PowerPoint designer, Kevin Crystal, who worked closely with our media, Dale Julio and the entire team at Rocky Bayou Baptist Church, Master’s Mime and Chozen, our drama teams, 3 o’ Clock Station and Ascend, the worship bands, and MercySeat Ministries, the choir that performed during the conference.  Our speakers, Kelsey Kuss, Lesley & Ryan Ray, Sarah Crow, Anne Mahaffey, Lasonja May, and Victoria Crow are all to be commended for their willingness to share the amazing things God laid on their hearts.  Most of all, thank you Jesus.  Without you we would be nothing, would do nothing.  You are amazing.  All the glory goes to God!  Without Him, none of this would have happened.
Last thing… we are planning to do this again next year, possibly October 10th.  Many of you were not able to attend for one reason or another, so you may get a chance to come in 2009!  We look forward to seeing you then!
